Obama feels that a government healthcare system will solve all our problems

March 25th, 2009 Comment On This Post

barack20obama20capitol1President Obama’s main focus last night was to shove down our throats about how a government-run healthcare system will solve all of our country’s problems.  Not even all the evidence  in the world that shows government-run healthcare is a mess is going to dissuade people who think that there is something out there called “free health care.”

The only thing government cares about is control, not your health.  When are people going to get it through their small pea brains that government doesn’t actually care about it’s people?  If government really cared, don’t you think they would have read the stimulus package and found that little bonus deal in there for AIG?

Also in response to last nights address, the president of the European Union, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, slammed President Barack Obama’s plans to have the U.S. spend its way out of recession as “a road to hell.”

Topolanek told the European Parliament on Wednesday that Obama’s massive stimulus package and banking bailout “will undermine the liquidity of the global financial market.”

But there is some good news from Washington.  Democrats in the House have decided that they will not include controversial global warming initiatives in Barack Obama’s budget. You may remember that by including it in the budget, reconciliation would ensure that Senate Democrats could pass the budget (and therefore global warming legislation) with a simple majority vote.  I betch Nancy Pelosi has her panties in a wad about his one.  Her fellow Democratic goons won’t let her have her precious global warming initiatives in the budget bill. Special budget procedures WILL however be used to remake the healthcare system.  At least we are starting to get some common sense on this global warming scam.

I don’t know how healthcare could fix the economy when that will require major spending, but I do have one thing that does not require spending and it will get rid of income tax and the IRS.  What do you think about that?

Have you ever heard of the Fair Tax?

What is the FairTax plan?

The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.

The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax  administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.

The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

The FairTax:

  • Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
  • Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
  • Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
  • Allows American products to compete fairly
  • Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
  • Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
  • Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
  • Abolishes the IRS

The Politico Whiteboard has a question today: Can Obama talk about anything other than AIG? I guess that depends on whoever is responsible for putting the words for Obama to say on the teleprompter.

With all this brouhaha in Washington right now over AIG bonuses, Chris Dodd is trying to undo the very executive compensation restrictions that he fought for in the economic stimulus bill.

Is Obama really going to yank the VA health benefits from our veterans? I guess if anyone would, this would be the guy.

A number of AIG executives are now resigning, thanks to the circus in Washington. They will be going to work for companies not under the thumb of Barney Frank.

Is the House Minority Leader saying that there was no repayment plan for the billions already given to GM? Well, here’s a plan … let them fail. John McCain seems to agree with that .. he says that the best thing for GM would be to let it go bankrupt.

Revisiting the Mortgage Crisis

As our economy trudges along, researchers are starting to look back and make sense of it all. One thing we know for sure .. it was the mortgage meltdown that led to this economic crisis. But researchers at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York are now saying that one of the main triggers of the mortgage meltdown was the 2005 bankruptcy reform act. Originally drafted in 1997 and pocket vetoed under President Clinton, it took until 2005 to get the darn thing passed, after years of lobbying from the credit card industry.  Read the full story.

We are Getting Closer to Government Healthcare

One step at a time, in the days leading up to an Obama presidency .. we are getting closer and closer to government healthcare in this country. Recession Lardassification

This statistic should astound you .. then again, if you have been to Disney World lately, maybe not. This is compared to 32.7% of adults who are just overweight. I’m not a genius, but that means that almost 70% of our population is made up of lardassess … blubber butts .. however you want to classify them.  Read the full story.

Wiretapping Ruled Legal…Any Outrage?

Just days before George Bush leaves office, the FISA court issued a major ruling. Now remember, FISA stands for Foreign Intelligence Secrecy Act. It is a secret court that expedites warrants for our intelligence agencies to help fight the war on terror. In a really rare public opinion from the court, it validated the “power of the president and Congress to wiretap international phone calls and intercept e-mail messages without a specific court order, even when Americans’ private communications may be involved.”   Read the full story.

$1.34 billion in Fed funding for DTV transition has been exhausted

January 8th, 2009 Comment On This Post

06-11-2008_dtv_converter-207x157Expect this kind of nonsense when we goto a nationalized healthcare system.  The government has run out of cash for converter box coupons. I’m sorry, but what cash does the government have anyways?  Come Feb. 17, converter boxes will be necessary for those who pick up their TV signal over the air. That’s the day when the majority of TV broadcasts switch from analog to digital. For now, coupon applicants are being put on a wait list should Congress allocate more money for the program.

And Americans want the government to take care of their healthcare when they can’t even get this right?  We don’t have the money for social security, medicare, medicaid and any other entitlement programs.   So what are you prepared to do if we have a nationalized healthcare system and then one day you get cancer and need treatment.  Well, the government is going to tell you to stick it up your ass because the treatment for cancer is to expensive and the fed’s don’t have the funds for it.  So now you don’t have the FREEDOM to goto a doctor and pay for your OWN treatment!

In other related news to government supported healthcare.  The Congress will be debating a children’s healthcare bill called SCHIP.  SCHIP was voted on twice but was vetoed both times.  Now we have a Democratic President so the circumstances are different.

This bill which is described by democrat lawmakers as “providing health insurance for children in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to afford coverage.”   Well actually, they probably can’t afford healthcare because they bought to many luxury items like and  HDTV, huge car payments or a cell phone.  Remember that our definition of “poverty” in this country is becoming synonymous with the size of your flat screen TV, not your ability to obtain food and shelter or care for your OWN CHILDREN.

These politicians have a goal .. and that goal is to make you dependent on the government for health care. Once they have control of your health care, they have control of you.

Check out this article from the Wall Street Journal on how the government is going to give Medicaid a $100 billion bailout, here is a quick teaser for you:

Medicaid provides coverage to poor and disabled Americans, many of whom face the highest burden of chronic disease owing to cultural and socioeconomic challenges. The program beats being uninsured, but it often relegates the poor to inferior care.

Reimbursement rates are so low, and billing the program so complicated, that it is hard for internists like me to get beneficiaries access to specialized care or timely interventions. For my patients as well, many of whom are uneducated or don’t speak English, Medicaid is replete with paperwork, regulations and rejections that make the program hard to navigate.

Now Medicaid is to receive a bolus of federal money, probably as part of the fiscal stimulus plan — the figure whispered in Washington is $100 billion — with no obligation that the program does anything to reverse its decline.  Read the full story.
