Phelps could face criminal charges

February 4th, 2009 Comment On This Post

0646735700I’m sure you’ve all heard the story and seen the picture of Michael Phelps taking hits from the bong. Well, now some cowboy South Carolina law enforcement official said he would charge Phelps if he could prove the U.S. Olympian smoked marijuana in his county.

“This case is no different than any other case,” Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott told The State.

Possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor in South Carolina, punishable by up to 30 days in jail or a $570 fine, plus court costs, The State reported.

Now come on!  This guy is going to waste taxpayer money for this!  How is this guy going to actually prove this?  How stupid!  This Sheriff needs an ass beating for being an arrogant ass!

And speaking of drugs check this out:

Methamphetamine use costs the United States about $23.4 billion a year considering lost lives and productivity, drug treatment, law enforcement expenses and other factors, according to a report released on Wednesday.

I can almost guarantee that the cost of law enforcement has to be at least 50% of that total dollar amount.  Government just needs to give it up already on drug control.  It’s a waste of money.  Besides, do you know you stop meth addicts?  You let them blow themselves up!  How come they never give the dollar amount of what alcohol abuse costs this country?   Maybe because it’s a huge money making business in this country?
