Congratulations America! We are part owners of the New Yankee Stadium!
The federal government just gave America’s richest sports team another gift.
For the second time in two years, the Internal Revenue Service has approved special rules that allow the Yankees to use additional tax-free bonds to pay the skyrocketing costs of the team’s new stadium.
The IRS has cleared the way for more tax dollars to help house city sports teams, including the Yankees’ and Mets’ new stadiums and the planned Nets arena in Brooklyn.
The Yankees have approval for $942 million in tax-free bonds but claim they need $366 million more to finish the stadium.
The Mets received approval for $612 million in tax-exempt bonds, but have not asked for more. Their new stadium is nearing completion.
Developer Bruce Ratner says he’ll need $800 million in tax-exempt bonds for his $950 million arena in downtown Brooklyn. Construction has not begun and the project is behind schedule.
But there is a major investigation going, by none another than Dumbo ears Dennis Kucinich. Do you think that Obama and Kucinich could possibly be related?
The committee, headed by U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), is investigating allegations of inflated land assessments and other improprieties connected to the city’s sponsorship of the first tax-free bonds for the project.
Those original bonds for $942 million also required a special IRS ruling.
Kucinich told Mayor Bloomberg in a letter last week that the city’s Finance Department overvalued the land and the construction costs of the new stadium by as much as $500 million. He also claimed city officials lied about that assessment to the IRS so the Yankees could qualify for the tax-free bonds.
This is where American’s are so STUPID. If our politicians really cared about us, they wouldn’t do BS like this. Let the teams and the cities figure out how to pay for this shit. The Feds should not be getting involved in this. And besides, I HATE THE YANKEES!

This is what the government does with your tax money:
Hoping to rev up awareness for the transition to digital TV, the Federal Communications Commission is putting up $350,000 to sponsor Yates Racing’s No. 38.
Starting Sunday, racing fans will be able to see Yates Racing’s Ford Fusion whip around the track with the date of the transition — Feb. 17, 2009 — and the words “Are you ready for digital?” on its hood.
The price tag covers the races at Martinsville, Phoenix and Homestead, and includes the posting of www.dtv.gov along the track, on the car’s sides and on the driver’s helmet and suit.
The market rate for the package is around $450,000.
The government also sponsors a National Guard car, which is driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and a U.S. Army car. Normally these type of sponsorships cost around $10-$15 million annually. I am not a supporter of this type of government waste. Let the damn corporations sponsor this stuff, government should NOT be getting involved and spending tax payers dollars on this kind of crap. I do love NASCAR though! Read the full story.

This referee should be freaking FIRED! But, according to the SEC today, they have reviewed the play and said that the hit was unintentional! No fine or suspension will be awarded. I don’t know about that! Watch the video and decide for yourself.

Estero High School lost to Naples 91-0 this past Friday night and there has been a major fallout since the end of this game. The Naples head coach, Bill Kramer, began receiving angry e-mails, some from Estero parents wondering why so many points were necessary, some from Naples parents wondering why their kids didn’t play more in an effort to pad their stats. I don’t know why parents would be so pissed off for, isn’t it the other teams job to try to stop the other team from scoring? But of course this is the direction that our country has turned too, a bunch of pussies and whiners. We have to give out awards now for finishing last. Everybody gets rewarded even if you suck! So what would be the sense in trying to achieve anything then? Read the full story.

I sat down last night to watch some Olympic coverage. First up in the lineup was synchronized diving. I was getting into it until I realized that the commentators were idiots and I was ready to stop watching altogether just because of them.
I can hear you asking me, “But Kevin, what could they have possible said that was so bad?”
It was ridiculous just how much they were kissing the Chinese divers’ asses. I mean come on now people. The Americans would get criticized badly for their minor mistakes but the Chinese would get praised regardless of what they did.
At one point the female commentator (whose name I don’t care to know) actually said (and I’m paraphrasing) - the Chinese had a few minor mistakes but they are just so great that it was a great dive.
I don’t remember her exact words but the point she was making is that since they are great divers they can do no wrong. Well hell, let’s just forgo the competition and give them gold since they are so great and completely infallible.

The V Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to saving lives by helping to find a cure for cancer. The foundation seeks to make a difference by generating broad-based support for cancer research and by creating an urgent awareness among all Americans of the importance of the war against cancer. The V Foundation performs these dual roles through advocacy, education, fundraising, and philanthropy. Its motto is “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.”
Last year, the Don’t Give Up ESPYS V Foundation Auction raised over $820,000 thanks to your generous support. This year, in our fourth annual auction, ESPN Radio, The V Foundation and Team ESPN are hoping to make it even bigger.

Wimbledon came under fire from animal activists on Tuesday for using marksmen to shoot down dive-bombing pigeons.
The tournament employs two hawks to scare away pigeons who had become a pest swooping down on Centre Court and distracting players in the middle of tense matches.
Don’t these people have anything else better to do. Seriously, this organization is filled with a bunch of fanatical freaks who think that an animal life is worth more than a human life. People, they shot pigeons! They did not shoot a person, they shot damn birds. This has no bearing or outcome on my life.

If Barrack Obama wants the wealthy to help, then this is how you really do it. Instead of forcing the wealthy to pay higher taxes, they should have the choice of saying “You know what, there is a problem and I’d like to help”. Not this BS about “paying their fair share”, which Obama seems to think.
Shaquille O’Neal wants to buy the mortgages of people whose homes are in foreclosure, then give the homeowner a new mortgage with better terms!
I think that this is a wonderful idea. One thing that I admire about athletes is that they are always willing to help their country and their communities. Not like those freaks out in Hollywood who think they know things about politics and are always talking about how we need to help all the starving people and AIDS victims in Africa, I almost feel bad…NOT! Story.
