UAW chief crying for bailout!
The United Auto Workers union made a public plea yesterday for your tax dollars to save their over-inflated salaries and pension plans. BOO HOO!
“We cannot afford to see these companies fail,” said Ron Gettelfinger, the UAW chief, calling on Congress to approve the aid during a special session the week of Dec. 8.
Gettelfinger said a $25 billion rescue plan for the carmakers is “not a bailout, this is a loan — a bridge loan — that will get us through until we can take a longer-term look at exactly what needs to be done in the industry.”
Well lets see here, the union is one part of the problem with why the American automakers suck. How about we get rid of the union, have the big 3 file for bankruptcy and see if they can get out of it on their own? Because that $25 billion is going to go to the over inflated salaries and pension plans of it’s workers, not to innovation and efficiency.
The video explains how Ford has created a new, innovative manufacturing plant that streamlines production and makes operations much more efficient.
Oh but there is one thing I forgot to tell you. This Ford plant is in Brazil.
And do you know why it is in Brazil? Unions. The UAW is opposed to this type of innovative manufacturing. They are opposed to innovation that would actually help their employer because they stand the risk of losing jobs. And if they lose jobs, they lose power.
