Barack Obama willing to open new areas for oil drilling
U.S. Sen. Barack Obama said today he would be willing to open Florida’s coast for more oil drilling if it meant winning approval for broad energy changes.“My interest is in making sure we’ve got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices,” Obama said in an interview with The Palm Beach Post.
Obama also said that he would be open to expanding the current drilling boundaries if it meant winning approval for more fuel-efficient cars, developing alternative energy sources and making the country more “energy independent.”
I’m all for it! What this man just said in that paragraph is exactly what this country needs to do. We have got to get the auto makers to start producing more fuel efficient cars. I know that they can make 100 mpg automobiles, I just feel that oil lobbyists have been holding down the auto makers from producing these cars.
I can’t stand Obama’s politics, but this makes me so happy to hear him say this. I’m sure his disciples are just beside themselves hearing these very words come from his mouth. This guy is such a flip flopper but at least he is flip flopping for the good of the nation. All we need to do now is stick that gavel up Nancy Pelosi’s ass!

I agree. We need more drilling, more conservation and more nuclear. Of course, alternatives like wind, solar and biofuels need to be developed. I hope that Obama will come out strongly for expanding nuclear power. France gets the vast majority of their energy from nuclear. Let’s work together as Americans once again and get our energy independence from the OPEC terrorists !
