A proposal to stop arresting people who carry fewer than 100 grams of marijuana

Well it’s about freaking time somebody in Washington is stepping up to the plate. Rep. Barney Frank proposed that the US should stop arresting people who carry fewer than 100 grams of marijuana. The Massachusetts Democrat says that only the use and not the abuse of marijuana would be decriminalized if the resolution resulted in legislation. Abuse? Like alcohol isn’t abused? Well, I guess it’s a start though, we can’t get to picky. Check out what the DEA says on it’s website:

“Smoked marijuana has not withstood the rigors of science — it is not medicine and it is not safe. Legalization of marijuana, no matter how it begins, will come at the expense of our children and public safety. It will create dependency and treatment issues, and open the door to use of other drugs, impaired health, delinquent behavior, and drugged drivers.”

Drugged drivers? Like we don’t have drunk drivers or drunks causing delinquent behavior? Come on, this is just common sense. If you wanna smoke pot or do coke, that’s your deal. Government shouldn’t be telling you what to do with your body You make the decisions. You are responsible for you life. You pay the price for what you do. Just don’t be bringing that shit out of your home or in front of kids. It’s just like don’t drink and drive.
