Confessions from former greenhouse scientist David Evans

David Evans used to be a consultant to the Australian Greenhouse Office. He spent six years with the Australian government building models about the influence of carbon emissions on our atmosphere. This was the same Australian who wrote the carbon accounting model that measures Australia’s compliance with the Kyoto Protocol.

So guess what Dr. Evans is saying today? Since he started working in the office in 1999, “new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming.” By the year 2007, the evidence is conclusive: carbon played only a minor role in recent global warming and was not the main cause.

Dr. Evans put together some basic facts for the public and government officials in regards to global warming. Here is just a taste.

1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it.

2. There is no evidence to support the idea that carbon emissions cause significant global warming.

3. The satellites that measure the world’s temperature all say that the warming trend ended in 2001, and that the temperature has dropped about 0.6C in the past year (to the temperature of 1980).

4. The new ice cores show that in the past six global warmings over the past half a million years, the temperature rises occurred on average 800 years before the accompanying rise in atmospheric carbon. Which says something important about which was cause and which was effect.

The world has spent $50 billion on global warming since 1990 and yet there is no evidence that carbon emissions are actually causing global warming! It’s a hoax people! A hoax designed to form the basis for repeated attacks on capitalism and free market economies.

I live just north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For the last two years I have been able to plant and harvest two successive potato crops each summer season. Last year I successfully grew honey dew melons and they were sweet and good! I don’t give a flying f**k if London or New York drown. I could care less if Polar bears die. Next year I will plant grapes and hope that global warming will be on my side again! Nobody gave a sh*t when I was freezing in the cold and oil prices were skyrocketing - turn about is fair play. Live with it like everyone else.

So, based on the poll results this is a Right leaning blog. And, if the above commenter represents your base, Yikes! I.Q. of a snail. Based on your popular articles you’re a Xenophobe(racist). Check. The government has been robbing us for 30 years and all the rednecks suddenly give a flying crap because the snake oil salesman is, gasp, a black man! America is an embarrassment, not because of our lame duck Presidents(all of them), but the utterly stupid people that occupy this land. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Railing against Socialism, as if Capitalism has treated you kindly.

The only thing anyone should care about, the only thing, as a nation, we can accomplish through Obama, is healthcare reform. But, oh, no! The morons must whine about everything under the sun. Bunch of freakin’ babies. Yes, our children will collapse under the debt we’ve allowed Republican and Democratic governments to pile on their backs. AND WE STILL WON’T BE ABLE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR FOR A REASONABLE PRICE BECAUSE ALL WE DO IS ARGUE OVER WHOSE FAULT IT IS THAT WE’RE ALL GREEDY MONKEYS.

  3. Roger Douglass Says:

We are passing an atrocious debt load on to our children and grand children and you wish to add health care to the list? How on earth can the government provide health care without increasing the already burdensome debt? It is impossible. I realize you didn’t say or imply free health care, you refer to health care reform. In view of the recent government activities how do you expect the government to reform health care without throwing tons of money at the problem? And, if you think health care reform is the only thing people should be concerned about at this point, you are lacking understanding of what the issues are and what needs to be done about them.

As an avowed Redneck myself, I can tell you this; We are not upset because the president is black. That theory fits nicely into your preconceived notion that all conservatives are racist but is simply not true. The fact of the matter is that we have reached the end of our rope, so to speak. If a white male president had done exactly what Obama has done and talked about doing thus far, we would be every bit as disgruntled and vocal about it. I specified male because if Hillary had been the president you people would have changed “black” to “woman” to make yourselves appear progressive and anyone who opposed her to be chauvinistic woman haters. It is easier to vilify your detractors than to counter them with facts and truth.

If you are as displeased with the representation we are getting from Washington D.C. as you imply, you would do well to embrace the “Rednecks” and help make a real difference in the governance of this country. What I see when I read the blogs here is totally different than you. I am willing to bet that some of the people who voted displeasure with the Obama Administration in the poll also voted for Obama. There are people from both sides of the aisle here who are unhappy with our government. There are people from all walks of life who are fed up and nearing the point of doing something about putting our country back on the track that made it great.

This has nothing to do with Republican vs Democrat or Conservative vs Liberal. The entire issue hinges on putting America back on track. Sticking to the Constitution and to hell with the rest of the world. Let Europe be Europe. We have absolutely no reason to emulate Europe. You want to make a difference? Quit referring to people who support a view that is opposed to your as Rednecks. Listen to what other people have to say and try to envision how their opinions and convictions might actually help you further your cause.

You say the government has been robbing us for thirty years. Well, I submit that the government has been robbing us for nearly 70 years and I am one Redneck who is tired of it. But, it serves no one if you and yours throws in the towel and is willing to give up as long as you get the one thing that means the most to you.

By the way, Capitalism has treated all of us pretty well if you really think about it. The beginning of Capitalism failing us was when Socialism started getting a foothold.
