Bipartisan coalition formed in Congress and have announced they have plans for drilling offshore
Since President Bush lifted the executive ban on drilling offshore, prices on oil have fallen the past two days. I can guarantee to you that if Congress were to lift their ban, crude oil would probably drop at least 25% in price.
I also was watching Glenn Beck last night and he had two state Representatives on, Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) and Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.), have announced they have plans to launch a bipartisan coalition to uncover real and immediate solutions to skyrocketing energy prices. Their plans include new drilling, conservation, tapping the strategic petroleum reserve, and funding the development of renewable energy, will each be considered as possible solutions by the coalition.
“If we remain locked in opposing political positions instead of working together to find real solutions, it will be a death struggle that puts the U.S. economy and our way of life at profound risk,” Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) in a statement on Thursday. “The country will miss an opportunity to declare energy independence from unstable, overseas supplies.”
