A “New American Revolution” we need to start moving now

Two interesting quotes from George Washington’s farewell address:

Warns against the party system. “It serves to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration….agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one….against another….it opens the door to foreign influence and corruption…thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.”

On stable public credit. “…cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible…avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt….it is essential that you…bear in mind, that towards the payments of debts there must be Revenue, that to have Revenue there must be taxes; that no taxes can be devised, which are not…inconvenient and unpleasant…”

This Friday is the 4th of July, a day to celebrate the Independence of America from the British. Well, we need to start a “New Revolution”, a revolution to minimize the intrusion of government into our everyday lives. It is vital for the citizens of The United States of America to recognize three factors that will accomplish this:

1) We need to pass the Fair Tax Act. What is the Fair Tax? The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.

* Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
* Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
* Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
* Allows American products to compete fairly
* Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
* Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
* Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
* Abolishes the IRS

Bill Archer, former head of House Ways and Means Committee did a survey on the fair tax. The survey was conducted among 500 European companies. One simple question was asked, ” What would you do if the U.S. installed the FairTax.” The responses where astounding. Four hundred said they would build their next plant here. The remaining one hundred said they would move their corporate headquarters here. My guess is that this would be just the tip of the iceberg as to what would follow. Our current tax code does the exact opposite. Product labels would contain the same foreign corporate names but the labels would also contain ” MADE IN THE U.S.A.”

2) We need to set Congressional term limits. Why term limits? This is the issue that separates American citizens, who want to recapture their government, from a careerist-dominated Congress and its illegitimate bureaucratic offspring, who want to run our lives. No more pork barreling!

3) We need to give the people the power to vote elected officials of Congress out of office. We need to make these bureaucrats scared of the possibility that if they are not doing their job, we will not tolerate irresponsibility and they will lose their position.

    It’s funny you mention the fct that washington said “It opens the door to foreign influence” which is true. But other than estonia and there free trade, we don’t need it. Free Trade is the number one reason why people now, cannot afford to pay for there realestate, which has led to recession and an ultimate depression. Also, the US Government keeps giving away everything, from our jobs to US properties foreigners. So, a fair tax is a good idea, we also need to get rid of unfair trade policies.

    I may not know a lot about politics but I will say that there are a lot of good people that are loosing there jobs that are a result of poor judgement of the government and the people that believe that the same institution would “bail them out” I cant stand by and let these people that after stepping foot out of office and paid there income and med benefits are allowed to make the decisions for you and I. Just remember that This is a free medium for people to speak and vent steam but our fore fathers wanted us to take the Regine’s of this society and keep it the way it was meant to be and it also says in the constitution that if we have the means to stop the injustice we are obligated to do so.

    Delbert doesn’t know a damn thing about economics. Free trade is not the reason realestate is in the shitter. the reason is negative am loans. They were made so minorities could get loans easier. The reason people can’t get loans to begin with sometimes however is because they do not have the finances to back up the loan. Thanks to this affirmative action ideology bullshit, the government made minorities able to get loans they couldn’t pay back. So naturally people with these types of loans defaulted and went bankrupt and all these people going bankrupt is what caused realestate to go to hell. The reason the government did a bail out for fanny may and freddy mac is because it is technically the governments fault they went bank rupt for creating these retarded loans to begin with. The free market has nothing to do with it. Especially real estate of all things. There is nothing wrong with the free market other than capitalism only really works when contained with capitolism. So trading with countries that have slave labor fucks everything up. As for the people in the car industries losing their jobs thats their own damn fault. They union representatives faught to get them reduculously high pay that the auto companies can’t afford. So by getting the workers high pay checks with benefits, they lost those workers their jobs by running the company into the ground. American car manufacturers were also making garbage ass vehicles. And when you keep producing garbage people stop buying your product. The problem can fix itslef on its own. Sure some of the companies go bankrupt, and with real estate having fallen apart it is an inconvenient time but a loan is not the answer, just like a bailout wasn’t the answer. The free market system works when confined to other capitolist market systems. Real estate would have been fine if the government wouldn’t have gone fucking with it to begin with. There isn’t a government solution when government isn’t the problem. The auto industry has problems because they are competing with noncapitolist countries and american auto industies are producing garbage. Real estate has nothing to do with free trade and anyone who says otherwise simply doesn’t what they are talking about.
