Honda announces the hydrogen car
As you all know from reading my previous articles, I am enraged over foreign oil and the fact that gas will likely hit $5 a gallon before anyone decides to do anything about it.
Honda has announced that they will produce 200 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles over the next three years.
Honda claims the vehicle offers three times better fuel efficiency than a traditional, petrol-powered car.
But is hydrogen really the answer to our problems?
Critics also point out that hydrogen is costly to produce and the most common way to produce hydrogen is still from fossil fuels.
I think this is a good step forward moving away from foreign oil, but it hydrogen the right direction?

Another solution that hurts more than the problem it is trying to fix. Kind of like the ethanol wet dream. 1 - Very little farm equiptment runs on bio-fuels, so those big-a** tractors, combines and semi-trucks hauling the corn require fossil fuels. 2 - Ethanol distillation is a major source of freshwater depletion, given that a gallon of Ethanol requires much more water to produce. 3 - Distillation of alchohol can normally only get to 96.2% alchohol. The remaining 3.8% is water, which is a bad thing to put into internal combustion engines. So to get rid of that water, they add Benzene (yep, one of the nastiest carcinogen’s in the chemical arsenal), then use more water to distill it further. 4 - While one of the byproducts of corn ethanol distillation is an almost equal amount of animal feed (yes, done right, 1 bushel of corn in - almost 1 bushel of animal feed out), it doesn’t seem like this feed is to popular, given the way the price of corn (and meat, eggs, etc) has shot up do to decreased amounts for food usage.

Car looks good though. Good for Honda for doing this. The Honda Hydrogen Car has been widely applauded for its superior fuel efficiency.
